Band Program

27 RCSCC offers a music program for interested cadets.  Cadets range in skill from complete beginners to experienced musicians and practice together 2-3 times per month on Sunday afternoons.  The band is a marching Brass & Reed band (meaning it consists of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments) and musical selections range from traditional marches, to more modern concert pieces.

Cadets receive private lessons from more experienced players, and work towards developing their performance as an individual musician, as well as a member of the band.  Cadets may use their own instruments, or loan one from the corps.  As with most other things in the cadet program, there is no cost for participating in the corps band.


Instruments

When you join the band, you will be permitted to play the instrument of your choice, provided it coincides with the instrumentation requirements of the band.  The following is a list of instruments played in the 27 RCSCC band:
