In addition to regular Thursday night training and weekend camps, 27 RCSCC Warrior has a number of teams and programs available for cadets to participate in. There is no requirement to be on any of these teams, but once a cadet makes a commitment to join one of them, it is expected that they will attend the extra practices that are associated with it.
Band

The band meets 2-3 times per month on Sunday afternoons from 1:00pm until 4:00pm. For more information, please see the Band Page.
Biathlon

Biathlon is a challenging and diverse sport that combines the extremely physically demanding activity of fast-paced nordic style skiing with the mentally demanding activity of rifle marksmanship. Cadets in this program are in peak physical condition, and train extremely hard. The Canadian Cadet Biathlon Program is one of the largest in the world, and cadets from RCSCC Warrior have the opportunity to compete on a local, provincial, and even national level depending on their performance. Training consists of running and marksmanship in the warmer months, and skiing and marksmanship in the winter.
The Biathlon team meets every Tuesday evening for running or ski training, and on Sunday afternoons 1-2 times per month for marksmanship training. Competitions occur in October, February, and March. For more information, talk to Lt(N) Geisel.
Drill Team

Every year, the corps Drill Team has participated in the Annual Alberta Sea Cadet Drill Competition. The team consists of 12-18 cadets, and one team captain. Cadets on the drill team must have sharp and precise drill movements, and maintain a high standard of uniform upkeep.
The Drill Team meets on Thursday evenings before cadets at 6:00 pm. This year's competition is scheduled for the first weekend in April. For more information, talk to one of the Corps Gunners.
Guard

The corps Guard is an elite group of more experienced cadets who work towards mastering all aspects of Drill & Ceremonial. The Guard leads the corps' parades, and marches with traditional Lee-Enfield Rifles and Bayonets. The Guard can consist of up to 12 individuals and one divisional petty officer. The members must have outstanding drill, dress, and deportment, and the physical ability to hold a rifle for extended periods of time.
The Guard meets on Sunday afternoons between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm 1-2 times per month. For more information, talk to Ms. Derksen.
Marksmanship Team

Marksmanship is a sport that requires extreme mental concentration. Cadets on this team practice accuracy and precision shooting with Air Rifles on a ten-meter indoor range. The team has opportunities to compete at local, provincial, and even national levels depending on ability. There is no limit to the number of individuals who can join this team, however only five members will be sent to competition.
The marksmanship team practices shooting every Sunday afternoon (timings variable). Competitions occur in February, March, and April. For more information, talk to SLt Ficht.
Sail Team

This team is normally exclusive to cadets who have some previous sailing ability attained through Sea Cadet summer training, or civilian experience. The team competes once a year in the Provincial Regatta (sometime in June), and depending on performance, cadets have the ability to compete in the Sea Cadet National Regatta. More experienced sailors act as the "skippers" for these two-person teams, while less experienced sailors act as the "crew".
The sail team does not necessarily meet regularly, however all cadets are encouraged to attend as many sail weekends as possible for practice.
